Guide & FAQ

Everything you need to join a competition, stay eligible on the leaderboard, or launch your own tournament on LIQD.

How to join a competition

You can browse competitions without an account. Sign in with X only when a competition requires it.

  1. 1

    Pick a competition

From the home page, open a tournament and read its entry range, deposit cap, and schedule on the join page before you enter.

  2. 2

    Meet any entry requirements

Some competitions require a verified X account and/or sharing the competition on X before you can submit your entry. Connect X on the join page when prompted — LIQD uses read-only OAuth and never posts for you.

  3. 3

    Submit your Hyperliquid wallet

Enter the wallet address you will trade from. LIQD reads your balance from the public Hyperliquid API — we never ask for signatures or hold funds.

  4. 4

    Register before start (recommended)

If you join before the competition starts, you appear as Pending until the clock hits zero. Use that window to move your equity into the required entry range.

Eligibility & rules

Rankings are based on real Hyperliquid data. Breaking the rules below can leave you ineligible or disqualified — even if you joined early.

Entry range (at competition start)

When the competition starts, LIQD snapshots your account equity and checks it against the organizer's minimum and/or maximum entry size. Deposits and withdrawals before start are fine — only your equity at the start moment counts.

If you are outside the range, your status becomes Not eligible and you will not appear in the ranked leaderboard.

Max deposit during the contest

Many competitions cap how much net USDC you may add after the start time. If you deposit more than the cap, you are automatically Disqualified. A cap of $0 means no deposits at all during the contest — only trading PnL counts.

If no cap is set, deposits are allowed and net inflows are subtracted from your PnL so rankings reflect trading performance, not fresh capital.

How PnL and ROI are calculated

Your baseline is locked at competition start. Ongoing PnL is:

current equity − baseline equity − net deposits since start

ROI (profit %) is PnL divided by your baseline equity. The leaderboard ranks active traders by ROI.

Quick checklist for traders

  • Join before start and adjust equity into the entry range
  • Use one wallet and one X account per competition
  • Respect the max-deposit rule after the clock starts
  • Confirm whether spot USDC counts toward equity for that event
  • Complete any required share-on-X step before submitting

How to create a competition

Organizers sign in with X, configure rules, share on X to go live, then manage entrants from the dashboard.

  1. 1

Sign in and open the dashboard

Use Enter the arena to sign in with X, then go to New competition.

  2. 2

Set schedule, entry rules, and prizes

Choose start and end times, entry range (min/max equity), optional max deposit cap, and prize tiers. Under Required fields & display, decide whether entrants need verified X, must share on X before joining, and whether wallets are masked on the public leaderboard.

  3. 3

Save as draft, then share on X

New competitions start as Draft. After saving, you'll land on the launch page — post the pre-filled tweet, then click Activate competition to publish it and open entries.

  4. 4

    Manage your event

From your dashboard you can edit settings, view the public leaderboard, and review entrant statuses (pending, active, ineligible, disqualified).

FAQ

Does LIQD hold my funds or need wallet signatures?

No. LIQD only reads public Hyperliquid account data. You keep full custody of your wallet at all times.

When is my eligibility checked?

At competition start (within about 30 seconds of the start time). Everyone who registered early moves from Pending to Active or Not eligible based on their equity at that moment.

Can I deposit or withdraw before the competition starts?

Yes. Adjust your balance freely until start. Only your equity when the competition begins determines whether you meet the entry range.

What happens if I join after the competition has started?

Late entries are allowed while the event is still open (before end time). Eligibility is checked immediately against the entry range. For the fairest experience, organizers and traders usually register before start so equity can be positioned in advance.

Why am I listed as Not eligible?

Your wallet equity at start was below the minimum and/or above the maximum entry size for that competition. Check the reason shown on the leaderboard and the entry range on the join page.

Why was I disqualified after the contest started?

You exceeded the max deposit cap — net USDC added to your wallet after start was above what the organizer allowed. With a $0 cap, any deposit during the contest disqualifies you.

Does spot USDC count toward my equity?

It depends on the competition. Organizers can toggle Include spot USDC in equity. When off, only perps margin is used. Check the competition details before you join.

Can I hide my wallet on the leaderboard?

When joining, you can choose whether your wallet address is public. Some competitions default to masked addresses — you can opt in to show yours if you want credit on Hyperdash links.

How often does the leaderboard update?

Stats refresh automatically when you view a competition page, about once per minute when data is stale. Rankings follow ROI among active entrants.

Can I enter the same competition twice?

No. Each wallet and each verified X account can only enter once per competition.

Do I need to share on X to join every competition?

Only if the organizer enabled Require entrants to share the competition on X before joining. You post the tweet yourself and confirm on the join page — LIQD does not auto-post.

Can I edit a competition after it goes live?

Yes — open it from your dashboard and use Edit. Be careful changing entry rules mid-event; entrants joined under the rules shown when they registered.

What is the difference between Draft and Active?

Draft competitions are not public and do not accept entries. After you share on X and activate, status becomes Active and traders can join until the end time.
